Contract Refinery Project Mechanical Engineer
Project engineer is responsible for managing several diverse projects at any given time, ranging from new million-dollar-plus developments to remodeling and maintenance projects. Currently needing a contract mechanical project engineer with 10-15+ years experience for an MSAT2 Project. This person would be working out of the Office in Houston during the Front End Engineering and Design Phase of the project. Some travel to our Northeast will be required. This assignment is expected to last approximately 18 months. Other areas in which these projects lie are: petroleum product storage and terminal facilities; and petroleum crude oil and refined products pipelines.

Daily activities involve all aspects of project development and management. Tasks include scope definition, design, obtaining permits, interfacing with government officials, project cost estimating, evaluating and summarizing bid sets and construction supervision. Engineers may also be called upon to provide technical support in various situations.

Communication skills are very important in interfacing with internal business partners, contractors and regulatory agencies. Project engineers are able to handle a wide variety of tasks and assume significant responsibility. Senior Refinery Economics & Planning Engineer
Minimum 5 years experience, prefer 8-10 years experience, B.S. degree in Engineering or Science (B.S. Chemical Engineering preferred).
Will run projection cases for presentation to management at the monthly PPD meeting. Determine optimum run level given each set of market assumptions and build multiple cases to bracket the optimum case. Track refinery performance on a weekly basis versus PPD Operating Plan and distribute summary report to management and refinery personnel. Regularly prepare crude, FCC feed, naphtha, vacuum residue, and slurry rundown for review by S&T and Refinery Operations. The rundown is the basic run rate communication document used to coordinate all the interested departments. Evaluate the economics of special products and /or feedstock's and recommends action in the marketplace when appropriate. Complete surveys for industry publications, trade groups and government agencies. Maintain product and raw material prices and other related refinery information for periodic reports, special requests, and review by Economics and Planning and other department personnel. LP and Crude calibrations Evaluate potential new projects and acquisitions as assigned by management. Coordinate preparation of Pasadena refinery charge and yield data and prices for the annual operating plan prepared by Corporate Planning. Blend gasoline, distillates, and other products as needed. Work weekend duty on a rotating basis with other Economics, Planning, and Scheduling department members.
Also, maintain refinery linear program ensuring its configuration is as close to actual operations as possible. Run LP cases as needed to respond to S&T, refinery operations, and/or management questions. Review and periodically update processing unit models for accuracy. Run unit cases as needed to respond to S&T and/or management inquiries. Evaluate crude assay data and inputs into crude assay library. Provide economic analysis of new and existing crude's to S&T as needed. Distribute new crude library book annually. Evaluate available crude's and makes recommendations about crude's, relative values, and recommend offering prices. Determine refinery crude slate which maximizes profits.

Rotating Equipment Engineer ? Baton Rouge, LA area -- $85 - $110K
BSME with 3+ years experience in an operating company environment. Petrochemical - Oil Refining industries preferred, but other manufacturing environments will be considered. Will support plant operations and maintenance groups working on everything related to rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, turbines, etc.). Need knowledge of lube oil sampling program, centrifugal compressor rotors in all units (Alky, Coker, FCC, Hydrocracker, etc.), metallurgy of liquid ring compressors parts (part of the marine and pump and seal basics), Work with maintenance crafts pulling, overhauling, filling out repair history cards, and installing pumps in the field. Sr. Maintenance Engineer

Will be responsible for instrument / electrical engineering and maintenance of site facilities. Specific equipment includes the plant electrical distribution systems, distributive control systems, programmable logic controllers, etc. Direct contact with field problems with technicians, supervisors, and engineers to implement maintenance activities in a safe and efficient way while providing the technical training for his associates.
Assist in the training of I&E technicians on instrument / electrical subjects pertaining to plant equipment. These subjects may include computer training, distributive control systems, programmable logic controller, electrical equipment troubleshooting, etc.
Provide assistance with optimizing efforts of the I&E department to increase work efficiency. Monitor and track KPI data for this work center.
Evaluate and maintain the preventative/predictive maintenance plans in SAP concerning instrument and electrical equipment. Also includes any ISO applicability.
Nature and Scope ?

Communicates with Project Managers, Operations, and Maintenance Supervisors concerning work scopes and priorities of expense and capital projects as well as maintenance related activities.
Business environment:
Must keep current on electrical, instrument, and especially distributive control technology as it relates to plant engineering and maintenance.
Temperatures vary from approximately 30 degrees in the winter to 100 degrees in the summer. Position involves going in and out of an air- conditioned office into the field throughout the day. There is some exposure to weather, physical hazards and possible contact with hazardous chemicals.
Internal and external relationships:
Interfaces daily with managers, engineers, supervisors, and hourly personnel in both Operations and Maintenance. Deals frequently with outside consultants, engineering firms, manufacturers, and suppliers.
Qualifications

PETROCHEMICAL OPERATIONS MANAGER

JOB SUMMARY:
This position ensures the organization, planning, direction and control of maintenance, technical changes/ improvements and technical documentation for the MMA/MAS Plant. The Plant Engineer supervises a small group of engineers/assistants and oversees contracted (internal and external) professional and non-professional services. The position provides the technical expertise to maintain and continuously improve the chemical process plants in order to minimize cost, to insure the technical means for safe operation, compliance with regulations, and high product quality and to guarantee the desired technical plant availability. It is essential that the Plant Engineer and the Plant Manager work together as a team.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the technical care and condition of production units in cooperation with the production superintendents. Assures the defined technical availability of the production plants according to the production requirements, with continuous technical improvements, and in conformance to changing requirements in respect to economics, safety and care for the environment. Fully responsible for planning, managing, and organizing the engineering and technical support to production plant. Typical job duties will entail the following activities:

This position is responsible for providing mechanical engineering expertise in multiple chemical production units, and for leading and providing oversight for the contractor mechanical team as assigned. The function is to assure proper design, installation, preventive maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment and piping systems according to regulatory and Company standards. Primary focus is on rotating equipment maintenance and troubleshooting in support of operating unit's business goals. Assures efficient and effective utilization of maintenance manpower, tools, and equipment. Areas of responsibility include supplying technical expertise to operations, providing leadership to the mechanical maintenance resources, administering the maintenance processes and budget, monitoring performance indicators, and assisting in or executing small projects.
QUALIFICATIONS
Requires knowledge obtained through earning a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, and/or industrial experience regarding chemical plant mechanical design, maintenance, operations, and root cause failure analysis. Related military experience with rotating equipment may be considered. Requires understanding of best industry practices regarding maintenance activities and work processes. Requires general and detailed knowledge of categories of rotating equipment and stationary equipment, repair practices, and industry codes. Must have general skills regarding project execution, and construction and installation techniques. Must have general computer skills as well as proficiency in use of enterprise system maintenance and project functions, preferably SAP. Must have generic competencies of analytical thinking and problem solving, initiative, team leadership/collaboration, and coaching. A professional engineer's license is helpful, but not mandatory.

Environmental Engineer

BS Chemical Engineering degree required and 5 plus years experience in Refining (preferred), petrochemical experience required.
