Project engineer is responsible for managing several diverse projects at any given time, ranging from new million-dollar-plus developments to remodeling and maintenance projects. Currently needing a contract mechanical project engineer with 10-15+ years experience for an MSAT2 Project. Maintain product and raw material prices and other related refinery information for periodic reports, special requests, and review by Economics and Planning and other department personnel. Coordinate preparation of Pasadena refinery charge and yield data and prices for the annual operating plan prepared by Corporate Planning. Blend gasoline, distillates, and other products as needed. Work weekend duty on a rotating basis with other Economics, Planning, and Scheduling department members.
Also, maintain refinery linear program ensuring its configuration is as close to actual operations as possible. Run LP cases as needed to respond to S&T, refinery operations, and/or management questions. Review and periodically update processing unit models for accuracy. Run unit cases as needed to respond to S&T and/or management inquiries. Evaluate crude assay data and inputs into crude assay library. Provide economic analysis of new and existing crude's to S&T as needed. Distribute new crude library book annually. Provide assistance with optimizing efforts of the I&E department to increase work efficiency. Monitor and track KPI data for this work center.
Evaluate and maintain the preventative/predictive maintenance plans in SAP concerning instrument and electrical equipment. Also includes any ISO applicability.

Responsibilities:
Manage, lead and champion the refinery safety program. Interface regularly with the staff to ensure that all OSHA technical standards and Refinery Safe Practices and Procedures are consistent with the Refinery VPP Star status.

Ensure project is completed safely, on time and within budget. Interface regularly with prime and sub-contractors to ensure their understanding and cooperation with the Refinery Safe Practices and Procedures. Ensure that the prime and sub-contractors provide screening, OSHA training and site orientation for their employees consistent with Refinery standards.
